Last days of Darwin

Sailing has no schedule. When you are at the will of the winds, tides and currents you leave when all the above are favorable. Since we were delayed as well for some repairs we got a bit of extra time in Darwin. Off we went to see the famous crocs.

P7266012
This is Sweetheart. He would chomp on the overboard engine of small boats and managed to sink a few although he never snacked on people. That earned him a spot at the Darwin Museum.

We went on a river cruise on the Adelaide River. Apparently the chances of swimming across this river are nil.

P7276083
This is why you won't get to the other side. They are everywhere and it turns out they are very agile.

P7276035
Think you stand a chance against Brutus! Look how close and personal we got to him.

P7276055
Maybe try your chances with Stumpy. She does have a handicap.

P7276070
This little fellow is called Dominator. Wonder why?

P7276077
Even the smaller females are fierce and agile. Crocs here have been known to decapitate victims on a single bite!

P7266015
Back on land we can see how most people explore the Northern Territory.

P7266014
The scenery is beautiful and the water is welcoming, but there is no way I am getting in it. The city of Darwin relocates about 180 crocs a year.

Instead of tempting the crocs we chilled to the didjeridoo rock band.
