We got bikes in Chiang Mai and left heading to Chiang Kong, our last destination in Thailand. Cycling across Thailand would prove to be beautiful and relaxing, albeit a lot of work after not doing any cycling for 6 months.
We passed many temples and interesting places in Thailand. Since we cannot read the writing it adds to the mystery and adventure of what places might be.
Other stops were more explicit, but just as mysterious. Guess it's time to stock up….on cabbages, and why does the condom family have four kids?!?!
Our food stops on the road can be pretty basic. Fortunately it appears most of Thailand has treated drinking water. Here is Ali filling up at the market. Note the big white jug by her feet, that is the drinking water source.
We had to stop at the White Temple. An absolutely amazing place of worship and definitely a tourist destination.
Dragons, snakes, warriors and Buddhas adorn the place. Lots of stories built into the temple.
Some messages are clear, like Buddha reaching enlightenment.
Other messages I am not so sure about.
The next day we managed to get lost. If I only had a compass. Oh well, the rice farmers got a kick of seeing us strolling along the paddies and were very friendly. It made for a long beautiful day. The next day we would cross into Laos.
