My first ocean passage

We have now sailed from Darwin to Kupang. The voyage took 6 days and five nights. We sailed at speeds from 1.2 knots to 7 knots. Here are some pictures  from our voyage.

Here is Baz doing his watch. We all had 2 hour watch duty about twice a day. During the night watch I saw the most amazing sky I have ever seen. So many stars and different constellations than I am used too. It made night watches go too fast.

Simon provided live music entertainment as well as the catch of the day. He got a nice big tarpin.

We saw amazing sunsets everyday. I have so many sunset pictures to choose from it was tough to pick.

Another sunset while we sailed with two jibs.

On the evenings we went out for a swim to cool off and clean up. It was a treat. Here is Simon diving of the bow.

The first day Olivia and I were about to jump in the water when we spotted jellyfish. Everyone else got out of the water and we didn't get to swim that evening.

Our captain, Julian, is giving a lesson on navigation to us. Jill and Orla were most interested.

Overall the passage went by very quickly and without incident. Some minor motion sickness and banging around the boat did occur, but it is part of the experience. We have a great crew and it has been a lot of fun so far.
