Welcome to Bali. This island paradise that has turned into a bit of a tourist trap was our long stop for a couple of reasons. First we needed to get our visas extended and that took a whole work week. Second I took advantage of this long stop to get my diving certification. As of now I am PADI open water certified!
I don't have many pictures of the diving, but taking a guided tour of the Lovina area was very photogenic.
The harbor at Singara has a monument to Indonesian independence. Right across was the Chinesse temple.
In the temple we found out about Ali's year of the dog. Loyal, compassionate but may be ARGUMENTATIVE. Does that sound like Ali?
The temple had the history of china on a wall. I guess when they said bring me his head in a plater they meant it!
We followed that with a trip to the local waterfalls.
From the waterfalls we went up high in the mountain to a coffee plantation. Ali was being very photogenic on this tour. Here she is roasting some coffee.
Once the roast is perfect you finish up with a grind and a smile.
Ali just being cute at the coffee plantation.
We proceeded to go to the hot spring baths. The water was pleasant and we spent over an hour simmering.
Artsy pic of the day.
This is the Budhist temple near Lovina. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset while going up and down the many levels it had.
Ali being cute again. She just can't help it.
Mandatory sunset picture. This is near our hotel where we stayed. No wonder I didn't want to leave.
The next day we headed up the Mountain to Mt. Batur National Park in our way to Ubud. But that is a whole new post.
