Party in Penang

December 6, 2013

We are having too much fun!  We are back on the boat now in our own private tropical bay off the island of Langkawi, having just sailed here from Penang.  We had such a blast with our new crew members Jim and Wendy exploring the UNESCO town of Penang from the interactive street art to museums to cooking classes!

IMG 6070Best street name ever - Love Lane - right around the corner from our hotel.

IMG 6127And here is how our street got it’s name.  These wire art factoids are all over the city, making for a fun walking tour.

IMG 6092Apparently not all Asians are good with cameras.  (just kidding) (sort of)

IMG 6097This is the iconic mural from Penang, the first street art that started the mural movement - available on all sorts of shirts and souvenirs.

IMG 6100Penang is a UNESCO heritage city, once under control of the British.  Can you tell?

IMG 6103I just loved the photograph!

IMG 6108Omar about to get stomped on by a dragon.  He is really laughing in the face of danger.

IMG 6114I should have knocked that brat off the chair.

IMG 6115The men folk waiting patiently while us women popped in a store.  Looks like love.

IMG 6121Vroom, vroom!

IMG 6139Who knew?!?!  A camera museum just down the road from our guest house.

IMG 6130Omar was in heaven.  I had practice in patience.

IMG 6140Meet Lim Dang Chii, the artist, and the newest piece to add to my international art collection.

IMG 6154Another country - time for another cooking class.
