The Island of Langkawi derives its name from the brown sea eagle that lives on the island. The island has some smaller sister islands that we explored on our arrival. Here are some pictures of our adventures.
Our first Langkawi stop was to visit the “Pregnant Maiden Lake.” Tropicbird sure looks nice at this anchorage.
The small freshwater lake inside the island was a fun respite from jellyfishes. With a tree swing and a paddle boat that Ali and Jim salvaged we had lots of fun.
Here is the gang with a view of the bay outside the lake.
Eagle Square is a tribute to the namesake of the town. Quite an impressive sculpture.
This is the bay where our friends, Water Musik, and other boats went to anchor. Our boat stayed at the Royal Langkawi Yatch Club.
We got scooters and went to explore the island. We were treated to beautiful vistas like this.
The next day we went on a Sail Malaysia tour. This is one of our stops at the hot springs where I got distracted with the architecture.
We went to the Perdana Gallery - a museum that displays gifts and toys the prime minister has received. Here are some of his vehicles.
An old school bus that has seen better days.
The Sail Malaysia rally finished with dinner and a dance performance.
We said goodbye to Malaysia as we head out to Thailand. Like any other trip you gotta stop for gas before heading out. Shell was the preferred station this time!
